Carbon Footprint®: become aware of the impact on the climate
We see each Carbon Footprint® as offering us multiple opportunities: seeing the results of actions set up in previous years, defining our next challenges, reopening a new three-year cycle of uncompromising work between our creative direction and our mission.

Understand the impact of a FAGUO piece OR garment
As a pioneer since 2009, FAGUO was the first French brand to include a provisional Carbon Footprint® in its Business Plan. We were already aware and set the tone: the first pair of FAGUO jeans OR shoes OR sneakers had to emit less CO2 than was originally planned.
From Day One, FAGUO set up an approach for ongoing improvement to reduce and compensate for its CO2 emissions. The tree became the company’s symbol.
A Carbon Footprint® was done in 2010, 2015, 2020. The next one will be done in 2023.

Since we will still have to wear clothes…
We will not stop wearing clothes and every new garment that is created emits CO2. FAGUO is thus an alternative solution since it proposes a wardrobe that will always emit less CO2.
The Carbon Footprint® becomes important when measuring FAGUO’s carbon performance. Realized by the Goodplanet Foundation, it takes into account all FAGUO’s direct and indirect CO2 emissions (on a score of 1 to 3).
Measuring all our CO2 emissions created a complete reference point OR document that let us set up the necessary actions to limit this.
With each new Carbon Footprint®, we produce less CO2
Doing our Carbon Footprint® proves that FAGUO emits less and less CO2. All our actions are positive. FAGUO is growing – in good health!
A carbon content display on all FAGUO products
As a company with a mission and a member of the B Corps™ community, we must make our generation aware of the impact of the products they consume.

FAGUO is the first brand to display the Carbon Footprint calculation of each piece on the label with a QR Code to flash and we also provide this information on faguo.fr.
Besides our desire for absolute transparency, communicating the carbon impact of each FAGUO piece shows how every purchase plays a role in climate change.
Thus consume less, but better.
Life Cycle Analysis: towards excellence in CO2 neutrality
The path we have taken brings us to a simple principle: make pieces that emit less CO2 in each clothing category.
This principle also means finding the best compromise between CO2 emissions linked to manufacturing a piece and its sustainability.
For this reason we conduct more advanced studies, known as Life Cycle Analyses (LCA), on our best-selling FAGUO pieces. Each LCA helps precisely retrace a product’s impact from the beginning to end of its life based on what it undergoes (number of washings, number of times worn…) and other indicators: climate change, resource depletion, eutrophication of waters…

The other side of a FAGUO sweatshirt

The raw materials of this sweatshirt emit 4.3 kg CO2eq while 50% are recycled. Without these, they would have emitted 35% more CO2eq.

To design it, the FAGUO teams intervened! Offices, computers, transporters, meals… represent nearly 2 kg CO2eq.

The impact of our customers traveling to FAGUO stores and maintaining this sweatshirt represents 10% of its impact (i.e. 0.4 kg CO2 eq).
